In 2014 the university closed the campus, the university bosses were looking to invest £19 million into expanding the Didsbury campus, however the plans have been challenged with opposition from local residents who said the expansion would cause more car parking chaos, so its been revealed they are going to close the Didsbury campus and the residence halls near along with the Elizabeth Gaskell campus with the aim that they will create a linked campus on the land opposite the All Saints site in Hulme.
