Manchester Day is an event that takes place annually to celebrate the city, its a day when the city comes together with families, and visitors around to honour all things Mancunian and everything that made the city as amazing as it it today.

Manchester Day Parade 2011 on Deansgate

The parade is created by the people of Manchester, people can apply to take part in the celebration by applying on the website, if successful they pair groups of people with a artist who helps develop the creative ideas that fit the theme of the day – the theme for 2017 is Abracadabra, focusing on all things magic and will have over 2000 performers.

Manchester’s first Manchester day parade

2010 saw the launch of the parade, bringing a carnival feeling to the city, it is commission yearly by Manchester council. They are also holding a photo competition, as they do annually, offering great prizes for the winner and runners up, for more information on how to enter keep your eye on this page. Manchester day parade’s tribute to the victims of the terror attack

2017’s parade took place on Sunday the 18th June, also fathers day of that year. The parade this year paid respect to 22 people who died and all the other victims of the terrorist attack that took place the other month as children held 22 pink balloons with the Manchester bee, date and the words ‘Manchester Remembers’.
