And here during the two-month run at the Palace Theatre, Nikki Davis-Jones and Emily Tierney have been delighting audiences as the leading ladies of the show.

The show imagines the beginnings of the two characters who go on to become “good witch” Glinda and the wicked witch of the west, aka green-faced Elphaba, from the infamous Wizard of Oz story and film.

The show runs until November 16, with only a few tickets still remaining for the last few weeks of performances.

So for our party fashion shoot we took inspiration from the girls’ theatrical fashions to showcase some of the hottest party dresses for the season ahead. Blonde Emily took on the white and nude looks big for Christmas party outfits, while Nikki, free from that green face make-up, wears some of the classic Little Black Dresses always popular at this time of year.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Wicked fashion shoot with a splash of green sparkle too….

About Wicked:

Wicked (full title: Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz) is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. It is based on the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, a parallel novel of the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and L. Frank Baum’s classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The musical is told from the perspective of the witches of the Land of Oz; its plot begins before and continues after Dorothy’s arrival in Oz from Kansas and includes several references to the 1939 film and Baum’s novel. Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinda (the Good Witch of the North), who struggle through opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, reactions to the Wizard’s corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba’s public fall from grace.

The show began its first national tour of the UK and Ireland on September 12, 2013 at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, where it is currently playing through November 16 to sold-out crowds. Other cities will include Dublin, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham, with further dates to be announced into 2015.
The cast comprises former West End standby Nikki Davis-Jones in the lead role of Elphaba, with Emily Tierney (former West End ensemble) as Glinda, Liam Doyle as Fiyero, Marilyn Cutts as Madame Morrible, Carina Gillespie as Nessarose and George Ure reprising his role of Boq from the West End production. For the first time, the roles of The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond are being played by a single actor, Dale Rapley; the only other actor to play both roles in a single performance was David Stoller (November 2008, London), due to the absence of several actors.
